Film Oxford offers you affordable bite-sized training in Filmmaking, Digital Video Production, Screenwriting, Photography, Creative Software, Vjing and Digital Media. Whether you are looking for a new career, entry to further/higher education, or you just want to develop your creative skills, Film Oxford can help.
We have more than 25 years experience in delivering training, production support and screening events. We work with complete beginners, emerging talent, artists and industry professionals.
We teach the latest digital technologies including software such as Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Flash and Final Cut Pro. We also explore the “secrets of the craft”, such as story development, building emotion and painting pictures with light and sound! Our tutors are not academics, but skilled professionals with a proven track record in Film, TV or Digital Creation; including many award winners.

Level 1
Taster courses. These adult leisure courses are suitable for complete beginners in digital video, photo editing and animation. They are run at an easy pace and require no prior skills.
(All Level 2 courses and ‘Introduction to Screenwriting’ (in Level 3) are also suitable for beginners but often have additional entry requirements – see course details).

Level 2
Suitable as follow on courses from Level 1 tasters or can be taken as first courses. They tend to be longer and are aimed at those with no previous experience of filmmaking. Basic computer skills (e.g. email, web, word processing etc.) are required. The pace is more demanding than the Level 1 courses, and students may be required to do preparation work outside of classes. The tutor will be very supportive throughout.

Level 3
Intermediate level courses designed as follow on courses from Level 2 or aimed at students who have completed similar courses elsewhere. ‘Introduction to Screenwriting’ is suitable as a beginner’s course; but it does have conditional entry criteria. (See individual course pages for details).
The pace on these courses is generally more intense and demanding. Depending on the course, students may have to do more preparation and development work outside of class. Students will be expected to be motivated, self-driven and able to collaborate with each other.
Advanced Screenwriting
