It’s July, the first week of the summer holidays…. so it must be SUMMERSCREEN!
The Film Oxford festival that offers all your favourite film activities – from open air movie
nights to Harry Potter tours, funky workshops to paparazzi premieres. So check out what is happening and join us for a fun-packed week full of film and digital delights in Oxford and beyond.
Start off with a free Saturday night “Film Under the Stars” in South Oxford. Bring a blanket and picnic and enjoy your favourite family film in the open air! Additional screenings in Rose Hill and Bury Knowle Park, Oxford.
Want to make your own films? Can’t get enough of Youtube? Join an award winning film-maker and learn how to devise, develop and distribute your own one minute masterpieces. Trick film? Not so tricky with our amazing animation workshops. Or get your art fix and be inspired by Modern Art Oxford’s summer exhibition – explore, experiment and express using the latest digital technologies.
Once again, the ever popular Harry Potter tours are back! Join Harry, Hermione and Ron on Thursday in the iconic New College cloisters – but make sure you book early for your free place!
New to Summerscreen 2013 – the launch of “Free Oxford”, a website created by young digital artists, dedicated to free summer activities for Oxford’s young people. Skateboarding, street dance, swimming, ice hockey and more – all for free.
And finally – the Festival Finale on Sunday 28th at the Phoenix Picture House in Oxford! A fantastic showcase of films made during the festival, shown alongside sensational BFI and First Light premieres. Join us for this free spectacle with plenty of awards, prizes and possibly some paparazzi!
